Banana Ice Cream with Avocado & Spirulina

Banana Ice Cream with Avocado and Spirulina.jpg

I have been making banana ice cream for years now and love swapping it for regular ice cream. So much healthier and cheaper. Someone suggested adding spirulina which is what I did today. I also threw in half an avocado to make it creamier. Next time I will probably add coconut cream as well, to make it even creamier!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups frozen bananas
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 1 1/2 tsp spirulina powder
  • 1/4 cup silk almond milk
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp chopped mint
  • 2 tbsp vegan carob chips

Instructions

Add all ingredients but carob chips to a food processor or blender. Blend until smooth. Stop to scrape down sides if needed. Transfer to a freeze safe container and cover. Freeze for at least 3 hours or until hard. Let thaw for a few minutes, then scoop and top with carob chips!
